Whom?
(pronounced On-is-mo)Onismo Muhlanga, a name was given by grandmother to embody heritage, community and purpose. Zimbabwean-born creative multi-hyphenate based in Newport, South Wales.
The expression of deeply poetic visual language is informed by life journeys and our interest in ritual and memory rooted in earlier elections as a child migrant. Combining recorded video content with archival footage and found moving images, What we channel infuses music and movement to take viewers on a journey of spirit, heritage and embodied memories. Our play with holistic creative approaches bonds creative art media, poetic justice, visual representation and digital virtual performance. Existing as a hybrid Zimbabwean-Welsh residents opened that integration of our heritage & cultural traditions into practising how to make a stance in change for the system around us that we shape to be an free flowing ecological space & place for us to co-create together, share while growing together. Majorly through the access to what we consume within our body ranging from food to visual projections, factor in the language mediums we communicate this in.
Striving to continue taking action to learn while conveying connectivity of holistic education in aspiration towards common unity, This is a sharing of our pathways of current and future work.
